A good niche marketing strategy would be one that works! Finding a market full of hungry, passionate buyers and then get in front of them with your offer.

There are a lot of ideas and courses floating around today that promise to reveal the secret to finding the niche that is a gold mine and just waiting to be tapped. Many of these courses are very good, some of them …not so much.

In this article I’m going to give you some ideas of how to find a good niche market, what makes a “good” niche market and how to make money in that niche market when you find it.

What Is  A Niche Market?

A niche market can just be thought of as a sub set of a bigger market. So, instead of just trying to jump into the “dog training” market you should try to focus in on a smaller part of this market. Maybe something like house breaking Rottweilers, for example.

Also if you are in the acne niche instead of trying to promote a well known product like Proactive why not drill down and find other products that are still popular (just not as popular)?

You will have a much easier time ranking for those keywords too and a higher ranking means more traffic and that can translate directly into more sales.

Finding these  slightly more obscure products and niches will make it  much easier to find keywords that can still be profitable but that aren’t so competitive that it would be pretty much impossible to rank for them.

What Makes A Good Niche Market?

A good niche marketing strategy  is to find a niche market  that has a lot of potential customers who are really passionate about a certain product and / or are desperate for a solution to some problem.

But, that is only part of it. Passion will only take you so far. The people in that market need to have shown that they are willing to spend money on that passion.

Take my example above about acne products. People with acne are desperate for anything that may help them clear up their skin.

They will spend as much as possible to find the solution. That means it is a great niche market.

Make sure they aren’t just passionate about finding information. You want them to be passionate about buying a product that will offer a solution.

Where Do You Find A Great Niche Market?

When I am looking for an idea of a good niche to build another site around, I usually look around my own home and consider aspects of my own life.

Think about the products you use or want, on a daily basis. Then get going on some research.

Finding a good niche is as much art as science and after you have been doing it a while you will just “know” that a certain market will be a gold mine… or not.

But, until that point, here are some guidelines:

1. A market that is product based.

2. A market that has products that  solves some problem.

3. A specific product that gets a minimum of 1,000 searches a month.

4. A market that has an affiliate program that you can join and promote a certain product for that market.

5. A product that you can promote that pays at least $30 commission.

These are just broad ideas and a good place to start. You will get better and spotting potential as you go along, but for now, this should get you started.

How Do You Make Money In Your Niche Marketing Strategy?

Believe it or not, there are actually several ways to make money and you can use a few of them together to form your niche marketing strategy.

The two  methods I recommend are affiliate sales and Adsense.

Adsense is a program through Google where you place ads related to your niche on your site. When someone clicks on one of the ads on your site (even if they don’t buy a thing) you receive a commission.

For the most part, these commissions won’t amount to a lot but if you combine them with affiliate commissions and you add Adsense to many sites, it can add up.

Ultimately it will be up to you to learn various techniques for making money online. These niche marketing strategies are only the tip of the iceberg.

On my blog I talk a lot about the importance of getting your
own domain name and website hosting account. What I want to go
over today, are what traits you should look for before you
choose a specific hosting company.

There are many options out there of website hosting companies,
and like everything else, some are better (or at least better
for you) than others.

What Should You Look For In Website Hosting Account?

Most people will likely look at price first, but on my list I
put it towards the end. I mean, what good does it do you to
get a good price if you aren’t really getting what you need?

Tips To Make Money Online

As I look around online I do see a recurring theme; everyone wants to find tips to make money online. The thing I have a problem with is that it seems like many of the places that claim to have those tips are really just trying to get you to buy something.

Hey, now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for making sales. That’s what I do, I make money by selling products and services online. What I don’t like is when others use inaccurate information to literally “scare up” a sale.

Stop Dreaming And Start Doing

Maybe it isn’t really the marketers fault. Maybe the public is so naive that they simply won’t listen to the truth. I don’t know.

But I do know that as long as anyone keeps searching for the “real” magical – push- button- do – it- all- for-you-with- no- work system they will be disappointed. There is no such thing!

If you aren’t willing to follow some simple tips to make money online you won’t succeed. There are many “wannabes” around but the people who really accomplish what they want are the ones who are willing to put in the time and effort.

• Learn how to do it. You can’t make money online if you don’t know how, can you?  You don’t have to know everything to get started, just a few basics.

• One of the skills you will need to learn is how to drive traffic to your website. There are hundreds of ways to do that. You only need to master a few to make money online.

Figure out how much you can spend on your marketing budget each month than develop a marketing plan. For most beginners I recommend a mix of free and paid methods but you should stay away from PPC (I just think the learning curve is too steep and you should wait until you are making more money before you try to learn it).

One of the paid methods I do recommend is ezine ads. They are generally cost effective. A great place to find a list of ezines in your market is the Directory of Ezines.

 
• Another important skill you will need to learn is how to focus. Today we are all “masters” of multi – tasking but the truth is that for most of us we don’t do as well when we try to do many things at once.

In order to truly succeed online you must be able  to focus on the important tasks. Eventually, when you are making money, you can find others to do some of the more mundane daily tasks for you, but for now you have to do them yourself.

If you constantly get sidetracked with Facebook, Twitter, emails, etc. you will never get anything done. To succeed online you should set up a strict schedule of when you will work. Even if it is just a few hours a week you can make money online if you stick with your schedule.

When you sit down to work turn off all distractions. Lock the door, let your family know you are “at work” and you can’t be disturbed unless someone is bleeding .

1. Auto Responder – this is an automated system that you can use to send follow up emails. When you sign up for an autoresponder service you will be able to pre-load your emails. You can add as many as you want and you can set how often they will be delivered.

As part of your auto responder service you will also be able to create forms to put on your website so that people can sign up to your email list.

2.  Article Marketing – this is a method of submitting articles to various places online as a way to generate traffic back to your website. After some recent changes in the search engines many people claim that this doesn’t work anymore.

It can still work, just in a different way than it used to. Now, you can use this to get backlinks which can help you rank better and get more traffic to your site instead of getting traffic directly from your article when someone clicks on the link in your resource box.

3.  Backlinks – these are links that come to your website or blog from another website or blog. The recent changes in search engine algorithms have placed even more importance on backlinking.

You can create a whole system of backlinks to your site to help propel you higher in the search engine rankings. That, in turn, will provide you with more traffic.  Some back links will hold more weight with the search engines than others. Links from high page rank authority sites to your site will carry the most weight.

4. Blog – short for “weblog” blogs are just a variation on the old static websites. Since blogs are very user friendly, they can be easily and quickly updated. That is the main reason they have gained in popularity with the search engines and why many online marketers now use a WordPress blog platform for their online business websites.

To get the most out of your business blog you should use the WordPress platform but not the free WordPress blog. You should get your own domain name and hosting account and set a blog up on that.

5. Opt- in form (webform) – this is the form you will put on your site so that people can sign up (optin) to your email list. When they optin they giving you permission to send them emails. That protects you from spam complaints.

This is tied directly into your autoresponder so that once someone signs up they will receive emails that you have already pre – loaded into your autoresponder.

6.  Pay Per Click (PPC) – this is a traffic generation method where you can place an ad and have it displayed when someone does a search for the same keywords that you have targeted for your ad. You only pay if your ad is clicked on and not just when it shows up.

This method seems to have lost some of it’s popularity in recent years and it has never been a good method for beginners. Since more than one person is trying to get their ad to show up for the same keywords, there is a bidding process.

But the highest bidder for a particular keyword does not necessarily win, there are a lot of other elements that go into the process.  This can be a very expensive method especially if you don’t really know what you are doing.

7.  Search Engine Optimization (SEO) – this is a method of optimizing all your content, your blog posts and articles, so that you make it easy for the search engines to know what keywords you want to be ranked for.

This can be very complicated but there are some simple aspects that anyone can incorporate into their blog posts and articles that will help them get a higher ranking.

I am really getting sick and tired of the reverse psychology many marketers seem to love using nowadays. Marketers are falling all over themselves to “prove” how different they are from the scammers and liars. But they make it seem so much harder to find how to really make money online.

Today alone, I got several emails that had the same two themes: one was telling me I “would never succeed online” (of course as I read through the email it said I would never know how to really make money online unless I bought their product or service).

And the other theme is “it’s getting easier to be scammed” and that I have to watch out. Sorry, no it’s not.

You see the truth is you almost have to try to be scammed (for the sake of this article let’s assume that being scammed means you were totally ripped off. You spent money and didn’t get anything in return) for some reason people online like to complain that things are scams when they are not.

If something in the offline world doesn’t perform the way the advertising said it would most people don’t immediately scream “scam”. They just chalk it up to over the top advertising and call it a day. But online when something doesn’t perform the way the ad says it will, people scream “scam“.

In my opinion that is not a scam.

But, even if you don’t like the product after you’ve bought it you can return it.  Virtually every product out there is sold through a reputable program.

Most of those programs have very generous return policies so how can you call it a scam or how can you really be scammed if you can return the product for a full and prompt refund?

As for the “you’re never going to make it online” approach to marketing, I have an answer for that too. You will succeed  if you follow a few simple tips.

Unlike the scare tactics you see in your inbox on a daily basis, there is no one size fits all to success online. There are many, many paths to success. You just need to find one and then stick with it… don’t get distracted with other lies and false promises.

If you ignore these tips than it is highly likely you will spend the rest of your life chasing that “internet lifestyle” dream but you will never actually get it.

1. Get trained. An online business may be easier than an offline business but you still need to learn what the heck to do. How dumb is it to try to build a business when you have no clue how to do it?

2. Put on your “reality goggles” and stop buying into the hype. Let me make this really clear: there is no such thing as a push button system that will build your business for you in a few days or weeks.

I know, many people really want to believe that there is, I did too once upon a time.

But think of it logically. If someone really created this amazing system that would make gazillions of dollars with no effort in just a few days, why on Earth would they invest the time, effort and money into hiring people to act as customer service and enlisting the aid of affiliates to sell that product?

Why not just roll out of bed every day at noon, push a button and watch the money flow in? Why subject yourself to customers who do nothing but complain and endless requests for refunds when you don’t have to do anything to make all that cash?

I din’t know about you, but if I had such a system I would get up each morning push that button, make gobs of cash and spend my day playing. I sure wouldn’t go through the hassle of trying to sell my system and flood the market with competitors!

So, it really is pretty much impossible to truly get scammed online. You have to go pretty far out of your way to buy a product that does absolutely nothing and then not be able to get your money back.

And, as for succeeding online, if you follow these simple tips you will drstcically increase your odds of success and you will know how to really make money online. No more hype and B.S.
