Article Marketing…Size Matters

imagespenand paper

I absolutely love my article marketing. I guess I just love telling people what to do so I enjoy writing. I also like it because it gets me a lot of traffic, high search engine rankings, and it’s free.

There is one thing about article marketing that many people don’t like: the sheer volume of articles it takes to get the amount of traffic you need.

It’s true on average you’ll need between 30-50 keyword optimized articles to get a nice steady flow of traffic. The cool thing is that once you have the articles out there they can generate traffic for you for months or years to come. So you write the articles once and they’ll work for you for a long time. Not a bad ROI.

When you’re starting a new niche site you can actually start with around 10 articles just to get an idea of whether you have a winner or not. If you’re getting great sales from those 10 articles add more until you reach the 30-50 article range.

If the idea of writing 30-50 (or even 10 for that matter) articles makes you want to vomit there is a solution: hire a professional to write your articles for you.

But be careful who your trust with such an important task. This isn’t the time to cheap out. A good, native English speaking writer will probably charge between $8-$10 per article.

If you think that sounds like a lot just figure out how much time you’ll save by not having to do it yourself times the number of sales you’ll get from those visitors. You’ll see that it’s actually a very small price to pay to build traffic and a professional online reputation.

So go forth and write…or hire someone. It doesn’t matter which way you go as long as you get a lot of articles out there working for you 24/7.

Want To Make Money Online, Not Sure Where To Start? Start Here…

images-computer-and-moeny If you want to make money online one of the biggest things you need to learn is how to get a steady stream of visitors to your website.  Once there you’ll want to convert them into paying customers, but that’s a topic for another day.

The First Step

The first thing you will need to learn is how to find a list of quality keywords (words or phrases your customers use when they search online for the product or service you are selling).

To properly learn to do keyword research make sure to check out the Keyword Academy.  There you’ll learn all you need to know about keywords.  Remember no matter what type of online marketing you are using you will need to use keywords.

Grab All The Traffic You Can

Here are some of the most common methods for driving traffic to your website and the pros and cons of each:

1. Pay Per Click (PPC)

This is when you place an ad on any of the major search engines the ad will show up on the side of the results page when someone types in the keyword you have targeted for that ad.

For example, let’s say your keyword is ‘housebreak your dog’.  You can go to Google, Yahoo or MSN and place an ad.  When you place your ad you will enter the keyword you are targeting, in this example it will be ‘housebreak your dog’.

When someone gets online and does a search using the phrase ‘housebreak your dog’ your ad will come up.  Now please keep in mind that this is an overly simplified overview of how PPC works.  You will need to learn how to bid on the keywords you want and your ad won’t always show up in the top 10 results for that keyword.

Learning to do PPC properly will take some time and practice.  This is a technique that is probably best used after you have a little experience in Internet marketing.

2. Article Marketing

This is by far the best way to get started in online marketing for because it’s easy to learn and it’s free to do.  Don’t let the fact that it’s free fool you into thinking it isn’t effective, it’s extremely effective when done properly.

The Internet is all about providing people with answers to questions.  There is an enormous need for quality content to feed the appetite for information. If you write an article, again targeting a keyword, and provide helpful, valuable information you can drive people to your website for free.

The best part of this method is that when you use article marketing the people who arrive at your website were already specifically looking for the information you provided…that means they are very highly qualified prospects!

But, I Hate To Write…

If you don’t want to write your own articles you can hire a professional to write search engine optimized (SEO) articles for you.  Be careful to hire only professionals who know how to write and speak English as their first language.  This is not a area of your business where you want to scrimp and save a couple of dollars.
