1. Keep your content original. You hear this over and over
again, but it’s true, when it comes to the internet
content is king. Keep adding helpful information to your
website and your visitors will come back often and stay
longer when they do.

minimum of 50% unique (by the way, higher is better. If
your content appears to be duplicate the search engines
will keep on cruising right by and you won’t get ranked)
and you will get ranked high and benefit from all the
organic traffic you can handle.
2. Keyword density is another one of those things that
everyone seems to have an opinion on. Now, more than ever,
it’s important to spend more time focusing on the quality
of the content you put on your website and less on the
keyword density. That is what the search engines look for,
lots of happy visitors that spend time on your website.
Of course, that doesn’t mean you don’t want to have any
keywords or that keywords aren’t important at all. Ideally
you will want to have between 1% but no more than 4%
keyword density.
If you go overboard you will look like
you are trying to stuff keywords, and that won’t get you
any points with the search engines.
3. Make sure that you include your keyword at least once
in the first 50 words on the page. This is what the search
engines will see first so it’s important that you have
your keyword right up front.

Affiliate Marketing Time Management Tips
The time freedom that so many people tout as a huge advantage to becoming an affiliate marketer may seem like a pipe dream when you are first starting out.
Most people will be working a full time job, maybe have family obligations and try to squeeze in some time to work on their business when they first start out.
The good news is that if you are disciplined and stick with it long enough to actually start making money, you can either outsource and / or automate much of your workload and you will finally get the time freedom you’ve dreamed of (not to mention the money).
First Things First…
But, until you reach that point, here are some effective methods for getting the most of the limited time you do have:
1. Keep track of how long each of your daily or weekly tasks actually takes to complete. You can either get a time management software program or you can simply set a timer and keep track of the amount of time you spend on any given task.
Sometimes we think that we are working harder than we really are.
By keeping track in this fashion you can see what tasks may be taking up too much of your time, and if they aren’t vital to the success of your business (checking email,status updates and tweets, for example) you may want to curtail them a little bit.
2. Keep track of the wonderful ideas that spring into your head at all hours of the day and night. Most cell phones today have a recorder built in. When you get a million dollar idea record it right away before you forget.
That way you can go back to it later, when you have the time.
3. Don’t get overwhelmed by looking at a long “to do” list. Instead look over the list and pick out one or two jobs that need to get done that day. Start with the most important and work your way down.
By focusing your limited time on only the most important tasks first, you can make that “to do” list seem much less intimidating.
You really want to hone your skills of prioritizing. Don’t waste time on the things that aren’t directly related to earning money for you.
4. Email is possibly the number 1 distraction to your productivity. Unless you are waiting for a specific email, restrict the number of times you check your email.
For most of us once in the morning and once in the evening is plenty.
Another good idea is to open an email account that you use exclusively for your business.
If you limit the number of people who have that work email address you simply won’t get as many emails and you will be less inclined to waste time reading the latest joke.
5. Let your family know when you are working. They need to understand that when you are at work, whether at home or away in an outside office, that you can’t be disturbed.
Setting aside a quiet spot in your home is a great idea. When I was first starting out my business I put a sign right on my office door that said “Do Not Disturb… I’m Working”.
My kids knew that unless someone was bleeding, they had to leave me alone until I took a break!

If you’re new to the world of an online business or affiliate marketing, you may have heard the term article marketing and wondered what it was and how it can help you.
In short, article marketing is a way to drive traffic to your website by writing and submitting keyword optimized articles that will inform readers and / or help them accomplish some goal.
There are 3 basic steps you must learn and follow if you want to have success:
1. Finding the proper keywords to write your articles around is the first step. The keywords should be very focused on the subject of your website and niche. Try to focus on “buying” keywords.
For example, in the weight loss niche, you don’t want to use such a broad term as “weight loss”. For one thing, it will be way too competitive and for another it’s too general and not a buying keyword.
Instead focus on a more targeted keyword such as “best weight loss program”. This keyword is a long tailed keyword (3 words or more in length) so it won’t be as competitive.
But it is also more likely to be a buying keyword since the person searching for this keyword is looking for a specific program as opposed to just some general information. If you are selling a weight loss program and you are focusing on that keyword, you will likely make a sale from that visitor.
2. Once you’ve got your keyword list built, now focus on your goals. If you are just starting out you probably shouldn’t focus on how much you will earn, but rather set a goal as to how many articles you want to have in circulation in a certain time frame.
The more articles you have out circulating around the web, the more traffic you will get. But remember, it is a numbers game and it will take a lot of articles in order to get the type of traffic that will relate into a lot of money.
So, to start, figure out how much time you can devote to your article marketing efforts every week and make that your goal. If you decide that you can write two articles a night after work, than make sure you stick to that. That will give you a minimum of 10 new articles every single week. That will start to add up before you know it.
3. Try to write articles that will be relevant for a long time to come. Don’t focus on things that are temporary. Try to write articles that will still have good relevant information that will still be helpful to your readers for months or even years to come. By doing that you can really leverage your articles

For all those of you who want to start making money online by becoming an affiliate marketer there are many affiliate marketing programs you can use. You may have heard of Commission Junction, Clickbank and Amazon, but which one(s) should you join and can you even join whichever one you want?
Places like Commission Junction and Amazon sell “real” products. They sell pretty much anything you can think of: books, music, car seats, furniture, etc. Some of these affiliate marketing programs can be a little harder to get into. At the minimum you will need to have your own website to be approved for any of these programs.

Clickbank deals exclusively with digital products such as software and ebooks. Since these items can be downloaded instantly once a sale is completed, many customers get virtually instant gratification.
The digital nature of Clickbank and the fact that the program accepts anyone, and no, you don’t need to have your own website to be accepted into their affiliate program, makes it the perfect place to start for all the beginner Internet marketers out there.
You can also be an affiliate for multiple affiliate marketing programs. The more programs you are a member of, the wider the selection of products you will be able to sell.
It doesn’t matter which program(s) you choose to sign up for, the number 1 job for all affiliates is driving traffic to a website. Now I know that I said that you don’t need to have a website to be approved with Clickbank, and you don’t, but you will still have a website. You will get a free replicated (the website will look exactly the same as all the other affiliates websites. The only difference will be your unique URL that identifies you as the affiliate who got the sale so you get a commission) website for every product you sign up to promote.
So, to be a successful affiliate marketer the main thing you have to do after you’ve signed up is to learn the best way to drive traffic to that website so you can get sales. Getting traffic… that’s your main purpose in life when it comes to your online business. If you’ve read my blog before you probably already know I love ezines (I’m a new convert, I really just started using them recently but in my first 3 weeks I made over $400 with my ads).
I’m also a big believer in article marketing. What you may not realize is that ezine marketing and article marketing fit together like a hand and glove. Many ezines will allow you to submit articles to them as well as submit ads.
What’s The Big Deal About Article Marketing?

Two Steps To A Successful Online Business:
It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the jargon online today. For those of you who are just starting out, don’t worry. It’s really not that hard. I’ll break it down for you.
There are many ways to make money online but I specialize in affiliate marketing. This is just when you promote a product or service and get paid a commission. So here are the 2 basic steps to having a profitable online business: pick a product to promote and drive traffic to that offer.
That’s it. That’s the basis for a successful online business. Form here on it’s just a matter of finding the options for each of those steps that work best for you.
Pick A Product:
When it’s time to pick a a product Clickbank.com is a great place to start. You can sign up for free to be an affiliate. Clickbank offers thousands of digital (instantly down loadable products like ebooks and software) products to choose from. You can promote one or several, it’s up to you. Generally I recommend that you start with one until you get a feel for the business, than you should expand and promote different products in different categories (niches).
Don’t forget you can use a product and promote it too. For example, I use the Directory Of Ezines (DOE), it’s a fantastic resource, but I also make money by promoting it. For another really easy product to promote, check this out.
After you’ve had some success and made some sales, you can look at other affiliate networks such as CommissionJunction and ShareaSale.com. These sites allow you to become an affiliate and promote virtually any type of product you can imagine. Whether it’s computers, refrigerators, phones, clothes, shoes, jewelry, nutritional supplies,etc. Your options are virtually limitless.
One note, generally acceptance into some of the other affiliate programs (other than Clickbank) can be somewhat more difficult, though it is free. You may want to wait until you’ve had some experience before you try to join.
You can also join CPA (Cost Per Action) networks. This is when you get paid a commission by driving traffic to an offer. When they sign up (they are usually offered something for free to sign up) you get a commission. The commissions aren’t that high but it’s usually pretty easy to get people to sign up for something free.

Drive Traffic:
There are a lot of ways to drive traffic online. For his article I’m just going to cover the most common (and the one’s I think you either should use or may have heard of):
PAY PER CLICK (PPC) If you are just starting out I highly encourage you not to use this method. It’s very difficult to learn and you will have to pay while you are learning. That means that until you get it dialed in you will probably pay a lot more money than you make. Hold off until you have disposable income so you can afford to have more money going out than is coming in. Also make sure you find a person or a course to teach you how to do it properly.
I have tried PPC a few times and frankly, I just don’t like it. Too many hoops to jump through and I just think there are better ways of driving traffic. Ultimately, though, you will have to decide for yourself.
ARTICLE MARKETING I love this method especially when you’re first starting out and don’t have a lot of money. This method does take some time before you see the results but with a just a little practice you can get great results.
The basic concept is this: you find keywords that are related to the product you are promoting. You write a 250- 500 word article about the product you are promoting and include the keywords in the title, first paragraph, once in the body and in the last paragraph. Once your article is written submit it to EzineArticles.com, GoArticles.com or an Ezine that accepts articles. Submitting to Ezines will generally get you better results since there is less competition.
You will be published as long as your article meets the terms of service (TOS) of the article directories. This isn’t like a New York publishing house where it’s tough to get published. Anyone can be published as long as they follow the rules.
You get traffic when someone reads your articles and wants to learn more so they click on the link that takes them to your website. And don’t worry about the writing part, you can hire someone to do it for you. You can find really good writers online that will charge between $5 and $10 an article. Don’t pay more than that!
EZINES (electronic ‘magazines’ that are delivered by email to anyone who signs up to receive them) this has become my new favorite. Why? Because it’s quick like PPC (without the steep learning curve) and it’s inexpensive. So it produces results more quickly than article marketing but it’s way, way cheaper than PPC, and much easier to master.
Build It And The Money Will Come
No need to get overwhelmed when it comes to building a successful online business. Just do the two step: pick a product(s), drive traffic with one or more of the methods discussed.
Just remember that it does take time to learn how to ‘tweak’ your technique and refine your skills. Please be willing to view your online business as a business and not a one hit wonder. Don’t start a business on the 15th of the month and think you’ll have enough money for your mortgage payment by the 1st. You might, but the odds are not in your favor.
Instead start your business today and realize that it will be a process. Just continue to hone your skills and you can make more money in a month than you used to make in a year. that is the truth. It’s possible, if you do it the right way.
