As I look around online I do see a recurring theme; everyone wants to find tips to make money online. The thing I have a problem with is that it seems like many of the places that claim to have those tips are really just trying to get you to buy something.

Hey, now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for making sales. That’s what I do, I make money by selling products and services online. What I don’t like is when others use inaccurate information to literally “scare up” a sale.

Stop Dreaming And Start Doing

Maybe it isn’t really the marketers fault. Maybe the public is so naive that they simply won’t listen to the truth. I don’t know.

But I do know that as long as anyone keeps searching for the “real” magical – push- button- do – it- all- for-you-with- no- work system they will be disappointed. There is no such thing!

If you aren’t willing to follow some simple tips to make money online you won’t succeed. There are many “wannabes” around but the people who really accomplish what they want are the ones who are willing to put in the time and effort.

• Learn how to do it. You can’t make money online if you don’t know how, can you?  You don’t have to know everything to get started, just a few basics.

• One of the skills you will need to learn is how to drive traffic to your website. There are hundreds of ways to do that. You only need to master a few to make money online.

Figure out how much you can spend on your marketing budget each month than develop a marketing plan. For most beginners I recommend a mix of free and paid methods but you should stay away from PPC (I just think the learning curve is too steep and you should wait until you are making more money before you try to learn it).

One of the paid methods I do recommend is ezine ads. They are generally cost effective. A great place to find a list of ezines in your market is the Directory of Ezines.

 
• Another important skill you will need to learn is how to focus. Today we are all “masters” of multi – tasking but the truth is that for most of us we don’t do as well when we try to do many things at once.

In order to truly succeed online you must be able  to focus on the important tasks. Eventually, when you are making money, you can find others to do some of the more mundane daily tasks for you, but for now you have to do them yourself.

If you constantly get sidetracked with Facebook, Twitter, emails, etc. you will never get anything done. To succeed online you should set up a strict schedule of when you will work. Even if it is just a few hours a week you can make money online if you stick with your schedule.

When you sit down to work turn off all distractions. Lock the door, let your family know you are “at work” and you can’t be disturbed unless someone is bleeding .

I told you these were simple tips to make money online but how much do you want to bet that many people who read this will just turn around and go online to search for a push button software system to “do it all for them”?

Well, that’s ok. That just leaves more for the rest of us, the ones who know that there is no such thing as something for nothing and that the only way to get a push button, autopilot business is to build it first then automate and outsource it – that is the best tip to make money online you will ever get!
